Description:
If you’re 11 to 15 years old, you can get the knowledge, skills and confidence to care for infants and school-age children. Babysitter’s Training shows you how to:
• Respond to emergencies and illnesses with first aid, rescue breathing and other appropriate care.
• Make decisions under pressure.
• Communicate with parents to learn household rules.
• Recognize safety and hygiene issues.
• Manage young children.
• Feed, diaper and care for infants.
• Course also covers leadership, safe play, and Infant and Child CPR!
Prerequisites:
Students must be at least 11 years of age.

Guard Start
Cost:
Guard Start $40 (8 Hours)
Description:
Designed for youth 11-14 years of age, this class provides a foundation of aquatic and leadership knowledge, attitudes and skills for future successful completion of the Red Cross Lifeguard Training Course.
Does not certify participants to be lifeguards.
Prerequisites:
Participants must demonstrate the following skills at a pre-course screening:
• Ability to swim the front crawl for 25 yards continuously while breathing to the front or side.
• Tread water for 1 minute using arms and legs.
• Ability to submerge and swim a distance of 10 feet underwater.
