Customers can round up to the nearest dollar or make a donation of their choice to assist families affected by recent flooding

OMAHA, Neb. — June 25, 2010 — With the goal of raising funds to assist neighbors affected by widespread flooding throughout Nebraska during the month of June 2010, Russ’s Market and Super Saver stores have partnered with the American Red Cross to host a Round Up for Flood Relief campaign at its stores.

From Saturday, June 26, through Saturday, July 10, customers at Super Saver and Russ’s Market stores will be able to round their grocery bill up to the nearest dollar for flood relief.  They can also make a donation in the amount of their choice.  Money raised will go to the American Red Cross flood relief efforts across the state.  Today, the Red Cross is helping families in Nebraska devastated by flood water with food, shelter, clean-up kits and mental health volunteers.

All Russ’s Market locations in Hastings and Lincoln will participate, as will all Super Saver stores in Columbus, Grand Island, Lincoln, Omaha and Council Bluffs, Iowa.  To locate the nearest Russ’s Market or Super Saver location, go to brstores.com and click the links to the Russ’s Market and Super Saver websites.

Help people affected by disasters like the recent flooding by donating to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.  On those rare occasions when donations exceed Red Cross expenses for a specific disaster, contributions are used to prepare for and serve victims of other disasters.  Your gift enables the Red Cross to prepare for disasters and provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance to victims of all disasters.  Call 1-800-REDCROSS (1-800-733-2767) or 1-800-257-7575 (Spanish).  Contributions to the Disaster Relief Fund may be sent to your local American Red Cross chapter or to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, DC 20013.  Internet users can make a secure online contribution by visiting www.redcross.org.
